The receptionist is the most important person in the hostel because it is the first person that the guest sees, which will leave the first impression on the hostel and depends on how the guest's stay will look like in the hostel because it manages all the processes necessary to make the guest stay as comfortable as possible.

Desirable traits in this profession are general resourcefulness, communication and willingness to cooperate. Receptionists must be emotionally stable, responsive and responsible. It is desirable that they are independent, hard-working and have a strong organizational ability. Because of constant communication with people, it is important to be kind, patient and helpful, and to show concern for people.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A RECEPTIONIST

  • Check-in, input of guest details in Rentlio, and checking-out guests
  • Correct input and update of data in the system
  • Service billing and invoicing
  • Provide all information to hostel guests
  • Answering the phone and written inquiries
  • Receiving praise and complaints and professionally solving them
  • Close co-operation with the housekeeping department and giving them instructions
  • Close co-operation with other hostel staff in order to meet all guest requests
  • Excellent knowledge in using Google drive and Google docs
  • Promotion and sale of all hostels offers
  • All other jobs according to the reception manager's instructions

SWANKY WAITER & BARTENDER

Swanky bar staff needs to have a lot of skills really; how to be a shrink, to be strong, creative, how to handle a needy boss and crazy
colleagues, and even crazier guests, but most importantly - how to levitate. Just kidding, but it definitely wouldn’t be bad to know
that.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF BAR STAFF:

  • Leave your troubles at home and come to work with a smile
  • Entertain the guests and help them with anything they need
  • This bar is a part of the hostel so there are many foreigners here all the time so excellent English is important
  • Provide all information to hostel guests
  • Be a responsible adult and come to work on time (which is min 15min earlier)
  • Keep your place of work clean, and always clean after yourself
  • This is a place oriented to teamwork so always help your colleagues if they need it
  • Close co-operation with other hostel staff in order to meet all guest requests
  • CReativity and new ideas are welcome and highly appreciated
  • Promotion and sale of all bar and hostels offers
  • All other jobs according to the bar manager's instructions
